They installed the lights for the signs today on the S.Side approach ramp...

Today they were inspecting the underside of the bridge and also putting
up small direction signs... good job....this bridge will last a long time...
######################################################
The north bound lanes of the new bridge were opened
today shortly after 12:00.......Oct 9, 2007

This is the new north bound lane on the S.Side approach...

This is the new north bound lane after getting on the bridge.....only
the one lane was opened today.......

This will be the second car in line to cross the new bridge. Its a 1933
Chevy. ....built by Gene Duke..... notice the curb is curved at this point...

I took this shot through the windshield...Notice the reflection of
a piece of white paper I had on the dashboard....Robert Cane II
Project Manager of Trumbull was in the first vehicle.....Gene Duke
and Al Ginoble were in the 1933 Chevy......Larry Coolidge and I were
in the third vehicle......

Here we go up the approach ramp............the second trip over, I
went down the new "D" ramp to I-180 and home....

Here is the 1933 Chevy in the center of the bridge.........
Bob Cane was in the vehicle ahead of the Chevy...

The Chevy is just to the left of the turning lane that goes down
ramp "D" that takes you to I-180 east.........I tried it on the second pass..

I took this shot years ago when they were just starting the new bridge.
Taken with the blimp camera.....

This is the new bridge Oct 10, 2007 from the blimp camera........
