Bridge view from the dike Feb. 25, 2006.....sunny day.........Notice
the new lights and the making of the alcove observation decks...

This is a concrete wall below grade that devides the MSE and the east bound
lane of I-180......notice the rebars in place......

Rebars to the left.....finished wall to the right.....this wall will be covered
with gravel when the MSE is brought up to the correct height.....

This photo shows the wooden form that they will pour concrete in to
make the final top cap for the MSE wall.....

This photo shows the flat galvanized straps that are imbedded in the
gravel fill of the MSE.......They are bolted to the concrete pieces of the
wall and the small raised portion on the straps grips the gravel and holds
the gravel ramp in place.....

Notice the concrete block to the right with a black iron grate on top.
The surface of the concrete ramp will be flush with the top
of the grate for drainage..........

These are deck pans......they are laid across the steel beams & welded
fast......then the rebars are added and then the concrete deck is poured...

We are on the south bound Rt.15 approach ramp (MSE) looking across
to the west bound ramp to I-180......they will also build a MSE gravel ramp
that will connect to I-180 someplace in front of Wegmans using part of Via
Bella.....Via Bella will be only two lanes wide with no traffic lights....

These rebars are for the concrete wall they will build to separate the
deck of the steel ramp and the gravel ramp of the MSE........

Bridge view taken from the dike up stream......sunny, no wind,
half an hour later we had 40 mph gusts.....2-25-06

When the bridge opens next summer for two way traffic.....these
signs will tell you which way to go.....when they demolish the
Mulberry Street ramp......Rt. 15 north bound traffic will be detoured
to Market Square.....turn right and go to Mulberry or Basin Street
and from there get on Via Bella......Via Bella will be only two lanes
wide and have no traffic lights........good deal.......

This hardy crew was working on the Alum. railings........

The vertical posts that hold the railings in place......everything about
the
railings are heavy duty........going first class on this bridge......the
people
in Williamsport should be proud of this bridge for the next 50 years....
